Description

Dogs that compulsively lick their paws may have:

•  a nervous habit – Dogs may lick their paws (or other body parts) if they are stressed.  This can cause irritation to their skin.  Aluminum acetate creates drying of the tongue when licked, and Golden Seal and Echinacea are extremely unpalatable and bitter.  Both help deter licking and help break the nervous habit.

•  a fungal or bacterial infection between the toes – This causes itching and dogs cannot stop licking.  There are both antifungal and antibacterial ingredients to treat these problems.

•  aloe vera to sooth insect bites, rashes, minor irritations, and heal wounds

•  aluminum acetate to reduce itching, to dry the area, and is an antibacterial

•  golden seal, a natural antibiotic, antiviral, antifungal, and antiseptic

•  echinacea, an antiviral, assists skin infections and skin regeneration, relieves stings and insect bites

•  boric acid, an antibacterial, antifungal and anti parasitic

•  tea tree oil, reduces itching, and is an antiviral, antibacterial, anti parasitic, and antifungal.
